My name is Kimberly, I am a 22 year old Texan girl that loves to live life adventurously. KimCrossesBorders is my personal travel diary where I share tips I learned along the way and some personal experiences as a solo female backpacker.
My love for traveling began when I started taking short trips all around Europe in group settings the summer of 2017. I was a junior at Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). When I came back to Texas after that summer, everything for me had changed. My life mission became finding a way to get back to my love— Europe and traveling.
Before I knew it I was accepting a full time internship position in Berlin, Germany my final semester at university. Nonetheless, I was THRILLED.
And then I thought— what if I did a whole entire solo backpacking Eurotrip? The idea seemed unrealistic and only something people do on television. Next thing I knew, I was purchasing a trip to Barcelona and mapping out the six countries I would soon visit. Best compulsive decision ever.
After my internship, I learned about my passion— something I never learned during my undergraduate studies. I learned that I wanted to continue my education through traveling and studying other cultures. Now I travel full time while I teach English online.
I hope that my blog encourages you to travel past your own borders, especially if you are a woman scared because of lies society tells us. You are capable, and it is possible.
Well, that’s all I have for now.
We have an adventure ahead of us. Get comfy. ☺
